Welcome to Chatati. By creating an account and using our service, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use Chatati. Chatati is a free platform that connects language learners in Hamburg for in-person language exchange.

You must be at least 16 years old to use Chatati. By registering, you confirm that you are at least 16 years of age. You must provide accurate and truthful information when creating your account.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password. You may not share your account credentials with others. You must notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account. Each person may only create one account.

When using Chatati, you agree to:

• Use the platform solely for the purpose of finding language learners for language exchange.
• Be respectful and courteous in all communications with other users.
• Provide accurate information in your profile.
• Not use the platform for dating, commercial solicitation, or any purpose unrelated to language exchange.
• Not upload offensive, inappropriate, or misleading profile pictures.

The following conduct is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate account termination:

• Harassment, bullying, threats, or intimidation of other users.
• Sending spam, unsolicited advertising, or promotional material.
• Creating fake profiles or impersonating another person.
• Sharing another user's personal information (such as email) with third parties without their consent.
• Engaging in discriminatory behavior based on race, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
• Attempting to circumvent security measures, rate limits, or other technical restrictions.
• Using automated tools, bots, or scripts to access the platform.

When sending contact requests to other users, your messages must be friendly, relevant, and related to language exchange. Messages that are offensive, sexually explicit, threatening, or otherwise inappropriate will lead to account suspension or termination. Remember that your email address will be shared with the other user only if both parties accept the contact request.

You retain ownership of any content you post on Chatati (profile information, bio, messages, profile picture). By posting content, you grant Chatati a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display that content to other users as part of the service. We may remove any content that violates these terms without prior notice.

You may deactivate or delete your account at any time through your account settings. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms of Service, without prior notice. Upon account deletion, all your personal data will be permanently removed as described in our Privacy Policy.

Chatati is a platform that facilitates connections between users. We do not participate in, monitor, or take responsibility for any interactions that occur between users outside of the platform. Chatati is provided 'as is' without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the service or interactions with other users. We do not verify the identity of users and cannot guarantee that users are who they claim to be. Always exercise caution when meeting someone in person.

For your safety, we recommend meeting new Chatatis in public places, informing someone you trust about your plans, and trusting your instincts. Chatati is not responsible for any incidents that may occur during in-person meetups.

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Chatati after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Hamburg, Germany.
